Jacques Fattaccioli — Combining microdevices and functional droplets in the immune context

Oil-in-water emulsion droplets are deformable particles, with a surface that can be functionalized by biologically adhesive molecules. Having a fluid interface, these molecules are laterally mobile, making the whole microparticle able to interact with immune cells and respond to receptor sollicitations. In this talk, I will present how using emulsion droplets in this context, in addition to microlfuidic devices, is a powerful tool to study phagocytosis, cell migration, and antigen recognition by B cells.
